Week 5 Title Screen

Intro Title

End Title

Animated Title

This is a rough opening title screen for my game DUDLEYTOWN. A lot of the colors that i used were present in my mood board as well. Overall, I feel this sets the tone for the dark game that lays ahead. I wanted to jump right in and start animating as quickly as possible. While the title screen doesn't reveal much, it leaves the audience, or player, wanting to know more about the game, giving them that friendly nudge to press the start button. The forest photo was taken from google image and the text was a combination of adobe text and text from www.dafont.com. I added a satin overlay to give the background image dark burning look.

Week 5 Final Moodboard

DUDLEYTOWN

Log Line:

Wounded from The American Civil War, Thomas Lynch journeys to “The Village of the Damned”, known only as Dudley Town, in order to save his wife and child.

Setting:

"According to local legend, the founders of Dudleytown were descended from Edmund Dudley, an English nobleman who was beheaded for treason during the reign of Henry VII. From that moment on, the Dudley family was placed under a curse, which followed them across the Atlantic to America. Several residents of Dudleytown are said to have gone insane, and two local women, Mary Cheney and Harriet Clarke, are said to have committed suicide, the latter having reported visions of demons prior to her death."
Main Mood Board:

Setting Mood Board
Character Mood Board
Enemy Mood Board

I chose a lot of lifeless colors for my project, i didn't want anything to really pop out. I wanted a nice blend and i feel these soft colors really help set the dark tone that my game will provide. Considering there hasn't been many games that dealt with the civil war, i had to focus and rely on old paintings and some alternative art that best made my point across for my project. The difference between the characters and enemies colors are also subtle, they're a bit darker toned than the characters. This makes the player uneasy as he wanders through the surrounding.

The Main focus of the game will be a blend between survival horror and action adventure. Week 02 Final Rock, Paper Scissors Project

My Final Outcome from the Rock Paper Scissors Assignment.

Since my project was fallout themed, I used elements from the game, such as The Pipboy and the mascot. The Vault-Tec Symbol at the top was created from the shape tool, and a few filters were added to give it a glossy, dark, retro television look. Finally, dust and blood splatter was added to give the screen some depth. Using the rules, i flipped them a bit to give them a dark humor element, similar to the game itself. I cut out the mascot's arm and found cartoon hands on google image search which I placed over the arm to fit the flow of the project.

I'm happy with my final product. I believe the preparation work helped strengthen my overall final product.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Concept Phase

Here is my basic concept layout for the Rock, Paper, Scissors project. There are over ten different thumbnail sketches, all variations of concepts that i will most likely be using for the project.

My overall idea that I am thinking of putting together for the project is a retro 1950s fallout style Rock, Paper, Scissors game. Essentially, it will be very familiar to the Bethesda Game, "Fallout."

I'd like to go even further and include their mascot used in many of the promotional videos, and classic posters, and film reels seen throughout that game.
